Edge now supports multiple profiles and you may accidently or deliberately have one or more profiles. You can see the current profile by looking at the profile picture at the top left.

“Access Denied” happens when the default profile does not have access to the Team Site. I had this problem because my default profile was my personal profile.

To fix this you can enable auto switching of profiles. You can set your default profile, or more usefully bind well know locations such as Sharepoint sites to particular profiles. The link to Edge options and my settings are shown below.
