My attention has been somewhat distracted from technology by the Euro crisis and questions such as “are the Euro nations an optimal currency area“. I always thought the Euro was a bad idea and I was right; perhaps I should have bet against it but I did not, firstly because I don’t know how (and timing is everything) and secondly because it is more fun to invest in things that are going to succeed.

Which does bring me on to the technology of the title. Nokia has brought out its first Windows phones.
