I travel to client’s offices and sometimes I might have a wired network connection but no WiFi connection. This sometimes happens when the WiFi is strongly secured or no-one knows the password. In this case it is really useful to be able to turn my laptop into a WiFi hotspot so I can use my laptop’s connection for my phone.

I have tested several applications including Connectify and VirtualAccessPoint.com but the best solution for simplicity and stability is MyPublicWiFi. Inspite of the name your hotspot is not public and you can set any key you like.
